Plans are underway for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to implement a deployment strategy for all senior secondary school teachers hired in 2019 and thereafter to Junior School (JSS).
The aforementioned teachers-deployed plan aims to bridge the shortage of teachers that junior schools have been experiencing.
It is believed that the decision to assign these teachers is a budget adjustment because it might make it impossible for them to immediately hire a new group of permanent and pensionable junior school teachers.
It is necessary for the aforementioned category of instructors to be psychologically ready in order to prevent being taken off guard, which could result in panic, even though this information has not been made public or published on the official TSC pages.
If the commission decides to use these teachers, more money would undoubtedly be saved, which may then be utilized to verify that the second batch of internship teachers has fulfilled their internship contract.
In December of 2019, the commission launched the teacher internship program, hiring competent teachers for internships.
The teachers were given a diploma that provided them an advantage during recruitment after they had to exchange their abilities for a year.
The teachers who began their internships in 2019 had an advantage during recruiting interviews because they may receive up to 30 marks.

Since internships were the sole path to a permanent, pensionable career at the time, many of the highly respected intern teachers scurried to secure internship opportunities.
The commission posted job openings for internships in Junior School JSS in 2023, and more teachers applied than anticipated.
The TSC clause, which stated that they would automatically be converted to permanent and pensionable terms after serving for a year, inspired the majority of instructors.
Teachers renewed their contracts for a second year as a result of TSC’s decision to prolong the contract in violation of the agreement, which is what is causing the ongoing strike.
In order to solve the shortage, the commission is also organizing a deployment exercise for 6000 primary school teachers to junior high schools this term.
