CS Machogu disputes handing out employment letters from TSC at rallies.
Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, has denied any personal distribution of job letters to teachers at public functions in the Kisii area.
Dismissing claims spreading on social media as untrue, Machogu made it clear that the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and not him is responsible for recruiting teachers.
Apart from tackling the matter of employment, Machogu sent a strong cautionary note to principals of schools about the custom of dismissing pupils for non-payment of fees.
He underlined that such activities interfere with kids’ ability to learn and gave county education officials instructions to make sure the order is followed. Machogu underlined the necessity of teamwork to guarantee that no student is denied an education because of unpaid fees, and that instructors who disobey this order will suffer consequences.
Echoing Machogu’s worries, Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia said that certain principals in the area are sending children home due to unpaid meal fees, which has a negative impact on the students’ academic performance.
Despite receiving government capitation funding, Governor Natembeya condemned schools for taking advantage of parents by charging exorbitant fees for meals. In order to provide equal access to education for all children, the governor’s statements emphasized the necessity of responsibility in resource management and openness in school fee systems.
