Heads of schools were invited to submit a request for JSS infrastructure funds.
The Ministry of Education has requested that school heads nationwide submit their petitions for approval of the Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) Repair, Maintenance, and Improvement Projects Fund for the Financial Year 2023/2024, with a focus on prioritization.
Director of Education Jacob Onyiego of Migori County gave instructions to all Sub-County Directors in the county, telling them to make sure that the fund’s approval is issued and implemented in schools using the RMI obtained from the ministry’s Free Secondary Education (FSE) funds by June 31, 2024.
School heads must provide copies of their acknowledgement letters and receipts to Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, along with a request letter for permission and a forwarding letter, bill of quantities (BQs), and a material schedule, with their requests.
In addition, the most recent bank statement from the date the account was opened, the architectural drawing, the minutes from the JSS committee and BOM, the school improvement development plan (SIDP), photocopies of the status reports for any ongoing projects that need to be renovated, the certificate of practical completion for projects completed in the fiscal year 2022–2023, and a printout of NEMIS are all required.
Additionally, you are asked to let this office know the dates on which the approval committees will meet to consider the proposals.
Attend the meeting with the County Project Coordinator invited. The message states in part that “approval letters in both soft and hard copy must be sent to the CDEs Office by June 31, 2024.”
