HELB Invites Qualified Students to Apply for Student Loans, How to Apply.
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) encourages qualified individuals to apply for student loans by announcing the launch of its application online.
HELB stressed in their statement how crucial it is to take advantage of this chance and submit applications before the deadline.
Additionally, HELB outlined the prerequisites for a successful application.
Both a working phone number and email address are requirements for applicants. They must also supply their examination years and index numbers for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
A passport-sized photo in jpeg, jpg, or png format must be uploaded by applicants.
A copy of the candidate’s Maisha card or national identification card, both sides in PDF format, must be sent.
Applicants must submit legitimate bank information or a registered MPESA number under their name and ID number in order to speed up the distribution of funds.
Rather than ID cards, applicants under the age of eighteen must present birth certificates in PDF format. A sponsorship letter in PDF format must be submitted by the secondary school recipient of sponsorship.
This news comes after the Education Cabinet Secretary’s decision, which was the reason behind the application portal’s activation five days ago.
“On June 15, 2024, I direct HELB and the Universities Fund (UF) to open the Higher Education Funding portal so that qualified students can apply for funding,” CS Machogu stated.
Additionally, he said that on July 31, 2024, the funding application outcomes would be made public.
