How to replace your lost academic certificate (KNEC).
Suppose you find yourself in a predicament where you misplace critical paperwork, such as diplomas from school.
This could be caused by events that are out of your control, like the recent nationwide floods or fire outbreaks.
You may inadvertently misplace the documents in certain situations.
You can find yourself in a difficult predicament as you try to decide how to proceed.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has admitted that these kinds of circumstances do happen.
Kenyans who have misplaced their academic credentials can obtain replacements through Knec.
Knec states that you can request a letter of certification if you misplace your certifications.
“To apply, a copy of either the original certificate or result slip is a mandatory requirement,” Knec states.
It states that applying for a statement of results (confirmation), which is an excellent alternative done on a need-basis, is an option if you don’t have either.
“This will be sent directly to the institution that needs to verify your exam results,” says Knec.
In order to request a certification letter, you must create an account on https://qmis.knec.ac.ke.
After that, you’ll need to use the login information that was sent to your email to log in.
Next, navigate to the menu, choose “lost certificate,” then enter the year, exam type, and index number before clicking “find.”
Knec then states that you will need to attach a copy of your results slip or lost certificate, which is an essential requirement, along with a confirmation from the registrar of people available at the NSSF building, both sides of your Identity Card, a passport-size photo, and a police abstract.
After you have finished attaching the necessary documentation, you must submit the application and wait for it to be verified.
After that, you’ll get an SMS reminding you to log in, pay Sh 5,220, and then wait for your application to be processed.
Knec suggests that you frequently check the system to find out how your application is progressing.
“Once the process is complete, you will receive an SMS notification to collect your certification letter from the Knec offices,”
Knec claims there is no need to physically visit their offices because the process may be completed online.
