KNEC distributes school certificates for the 2022 KCSE.
For the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), all students who took the exam are instructed by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to pick up their certificates from the affiliated schools.
The council declared on Friday that it had sent the certificates from the exams to the legitimate candidates via their appropriate Sub-County Directors of Education (for Private Candidates) and Secondary School Principals for verification and issue.
The sub-county director of education offices have mailed the 2022 KCSE examination certificates to all qualified applicants’ schools. Candidates and their parents/guardians are kindly asked to pick up the certificates from their educational institutions as soon as possible, according to KNEC on X.
Within 30 days of the certificates’ distribution, KNEC must receive queries that are supposed to be filed online via the Query Management Information System (QMIS).
“A charge of Kshs. 5,000.00 must be paid through the Paybill number produced by QMIS after the application has been verified. Inquiries regarding examination results or certificates must be made within thirty (30) days of the date of shipment. The examination authority stated that certificate queries sent in hard copy would not be considered.
The document will not be provided to candidates who did not submit passport-size photos by the deadline for printing.

The following details must be counter-checked before the Issuance of the certificates to candidates:
2.1 Accuracy of details:
#Centre name and candidate’s names;
# School code;
# Candidate’s Gender.
2.2 Quality of printing (that the certificate has no smudged or faded print; and are in good condition).
2.3 Embossing of hologram and candidate’s passport size photograph.
The passport size photograph embossed on the candidate’s certificate is exactly the same as what was submitted to KNEC during the registration of the candidate.
2.4 The number of certificates delivered are as indicated in the Checklist provided for each examination centre and for all candidates who qualify for award of the certificates.
Any discrepancies should be indicated in the Acknowledgement form and forwarded to KNEC through the SCDEs’ offices.
881,416 candidates who sat for the examinations, 443, 644 were male while 437,772 were female, representing 50.33 per cent and 49.69 per cent of the total candidature respectively.
