KNUT requests that TSC deploy more teachers to Narok County.
The government is now being asked to send more teachers to Narok County by the Kenya National Union of Teachers. Malel Langat, the First Vice National Chairman, claims that efforts to raise academic standards in the area have been impeded by a lack of staff.
Speaking locally, he asserts that hiring more instructors was essential if county pupils were to perform on par with their national counterparts. “Narok has been disregarded for a very long time.
The instructors Service Commission needs to assign more instructors to this area, particularly those from JSS, if our kids are to perform well against their peers from other regions, he said.
He accuses the county of being ignored throughout the years and criticizes local authorities for not advocating for a solution.
Reiterating that teachers are essential to raising the nation’s academic standards, Langat reaffirmed the union’s commitment to fighting for teachers’ rights.
“KNUT is still dedicated to defending teachers’ rights. We want a lot of things handled, and we won’t stop despite the government’s threats and intimidation.
Langat continued, “The Union is and will continue to be powerful. JSS teachers in Nandi, meanwhile, have vowed to walk off the job if their demands are not met by the government before classes resume.
The teachers claim it was unlawful to force them to complete a two-year internship and they want their pay to be boosted along with their conversion to permanent and pensionable terms.
