KUCCPS portal will open for transfers on June 5.
On June 5, the Kenya University and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will open its site for students seeking to transfer from universities where they have been placed.
Speaking on Tuesday, KUCCPS CEO Agnes Mercy Wahome said the organization expects a seamless procedure that would be completed by July, allowing all students to begin reporting in August.
She also stated that all students who qualify for government sponsorship should apply for Higher Education Loans before returning to school.
“A total of 153, 000 pupils who qualified (76%) will receive Education financing. We will ensure that the process runs smoothly, and that all pupils are situated in their schools by August,” she stated.
According to Wahome, the Bachelor of Education attracted the highest number of candidates from the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
She stated that around 30,000 kids have applied to study education.
KUCCPS put 10,263 students in Teacher Training Institutes, including 734 for Diploma Secondary Teacher Training and 9,529 for Primary Teacher Training.
Male applicants sustain the trend.
The agency also placed 19,653 students at Kenya Medical Training College.
According to Wahome, male applicants dominated placement to degree programmes, a tendency that has continued since the inception of the central placement system.
“In contrast, female students were the majority of those placed in TVET, from the 2020/2021 Cycle to the present,” she stated.
She stated that the placement is guided by the Placement Policy and Processing Procedure.
The applicant’s selections, merit (qualifications), and approved capacities are all important factors to evaluate.
She mentioned that KUCCPS uses affirmative action for gender, people with disabilities, and marginalized communities.
Students can verify their placement results by logging onto the KUCCPS portal.
During the 2023 KCSE Examination, 899,453 applicants took the exam.
KUCCPS portal will open for transfers on June 5.
