Ministry of Education Rejects Teacher Redistribution Reports Based on Subject Combination.
Ministry of Education refuted allegations that claimed there were intentions to re-deploy all teachers utilizing a new system.
The reassignment would be based on the subject combination, according to the widely shared post that the Ministry has now marked.
Initially, the Ministry announced a new way of classifying schools into three categories: Humanities and Arts Schools, Creative Arts and Sports Schools, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) centers.
However, the post that was flagged stated that the national schools will be designated as STEM centers, while the other county schools would be designated as centers for the creative arts and sports.
Additionally, the fictitious post asserted that county schools would be designated as Humanities and Arts Schools.
“There is false information in that. The Ministry of Education stated, “Ignore the unwanted insinuations.”
Concerned Kenyans questioned the veracity of the reports, which caused a stir on social media, and the Ministry responded by providing clarification.
By using the logo of a well-known media site, the phony content was made more believable to readers, piqueing the interest of social media users.
The government will shortly discontinue the national classification of schools, according to a statement made on April 25 of this year by Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang.
Kipsang announced that the ministry would do away with the classification of schools as national, extra-county, county, and sub-county during his speech at the Innagural Annual Symposium on Competency-Based Assessment.
The PS states that the combination of subjects given at an institution would be used to identify senior schools, and that an institution’s infrastructure would be the primary factor in classifying them.
The sub-county was prepared to offer a combination of disciplines, but national schools, with their superior infrastructure, would offer STEM subjects.
