Ministry of Education starts deploying QASOs across the country.
To address the ongoing scarcity of officers, the Ministry of Education has started assigning recently hired Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (QASOs) to different areas.
The deployment started in May, according to a senior officer at the Ministry’s Jogoo House, and the officers were to report right away to their assigned work stations.
After the Public Service Commission (PSC) approved the list of officers to be promoted a few days ago, 300 QASOs were assigned to the subsequent job categories.
Since the start of the year, the Ministry has been trying to get QASOs to improve the services they provide. The most recent development is that QASOs have been given cash for the first time to implement their programs.
Depending on who they report to, sub-county officers will now be able to receive financing from either county directors or sub-county directors; sub-county officers will receive between KSh260,000 and KSh400,000.
To carry out their operations, their county-level counterparts will get between KSh650,000 and KSh1.2 million, and their regional counterparts will get between KSh1 million and KSh1.5 million.
