Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology closed following disturbances among students
Following the institution’s permanent closure on Friday, Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology has ceased instruction.
Following disturbances on the evening of Thursday, June 6, 2024, and the early hours of Friday, June 7, the Nakuru institution was shuttered.
Principal Sammy Chemoiwa wrote to the students in a memo that it had become clear that the unfavorable atmosphere made it impossible to hold regular sessions.
“It is therefore decided that the college programs shall be suspended indefinitely all students are ordered to vacate the college compound by 12:30 pm,” the memo began.
According to Chemoiwa, all students would not be permitted entry to the college till further notice.
He stated that advice on when to continue their studies will be given to the pupils.
The registrar, dean of students, finance officer, deputy principals of administration and academics, and all department heads have copies of the memo.
