Ruto offers Lenana Primary School twenty-four classrooms to be built.
At Nairobi’s Lenana Primary School, President William Ruto has promised to personally fund the construction of additional classrooms.
Speaking during the school’s inaugural parade, Ruto recognized the difficulties local youngsters confront in finding high-quality education.
He declared, “It is not the Ministry; I will build those 24 classrooms. I have offered to build those new classrooms.”
He said that this would not only make it possible to house more students but would also significantly improve the school’s infrastructure, enabling it to become a center of excellence.
“We aim to establish this as a genuine center of excellence.”
He gave the contractor strict instructions to expedite the project’s completion within the next two months.
According to Ruto, “Huyu contractor anaanza hiyo kazi leo ili baada ya miezi miwili nirudi hapa tena nifungue.”
(This contractor is starting the job now, and I will come in the next two months to commission it.)
The head of state announced that he would also grant funding to buy furniture for the school in order to alleviate the shortage of it.
He stated that he has already provided funding for the project and assigned local member John Kiarie to oversee its delivery.
Ruto, who expressed his deep love for the institution, shared that he and his lifelong companion Rachel used to reside in the Ngando ward in the early years.
He said he was in favor of the school’s founding and added that he had contributed Sh40 million through the ministry to supplement the additional Sh20 million that the local MP had given through the NGCDF.
“Nafanya hii kazi kwa sababu nilikuwa naishi hapa Ngando, hata yule Mama Rachel nilianza kuzungumza naye nikiwa hapa, kwa hivyo hapa Ngando ni mahali kubwa sana na siwezi sahau,” Ruto stated.
(I am performing this work since I used to reside in Ngando; it was during my stay here that I first spoke with my wife, Rachel. Ngando is a location I will always remember.
