Teachers training colleges in Kenya offer two category of qualifications to teachers.Namely:

• Diploma In Teaching; Example- Diploma in Primary Teacher Education(DPTE), a Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE), a Diploma in ECDE, and a Diploma in Special Needs Education (DSNE),

• Certificate In Teaching: EXAMPLE – ECDE and Primary Teacher Education (which has been discontinued though).

• Mean Grade of C+ (Plus)
• C (Plain) in English, a
• C+ (Plus) in two teaching subjects.
• For humanities, one needs a D+ (Plus) in Maths and a C (Plain) in Maths for Sciences.
