TSC Basic Salary and Allowances for Diploma-Holding Sne Teachers.
Salary points for teachers in a certain job group are determined by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). Teachers with special needs diplomas are not any different, since their pay points are likewise disclosed to ensure that their pay is appropriately understood.
Diploma SNE teachers at salary points 1 of the TSC wage structure are paid Sh. 36,621 in salary plus an allowance equivalent to that of grade C2.
These teachers’ base pay is increasing in tandem with their salary points. For instance, teachers at salary point 5 make Sh. 43,786 a month.
The monthly compensation increases to Sh. 45,776 with allowances comparable to grade C2 as the salary points increase from 5 to 6.

DIPLOMA SNE TEACHERS ALLOWANCES
Hardship Allowances
These Allowances is paid to teachers working in areas with extreme conditions. SNE Teachers are also entitled to this allowance to motivates them continue working irrespective of the harsh conditions.
This Allowance is only awarded to teachers working in areas marked and gazetted as hardship areas. Such teachers are entitled to a monthly allowance of Sh. 10,900.
Commuter Allowance
This Allowance is paid to teachers to facilitate them travel from their area of residence to to school and back. This is meant to appreciate their efforts and motivate them to arrive in school in good time to help learners in their daily learning.
Diploma SNE Teachers are entitled to this allowance which is set Sh. 5,000 per month.
Annual Leave Allowance
This Allowance is paid to all teachers working under the Teachers Service Commission on permanent and pensionable terms. This Allowance is an appreciation to the teachers for their concerted efforts to remain on duty on a yearly basis.
Teachers with Diploma in SNE are entitled to this Allowance which is paid at Sh. 6,000 per month.
House Allowance
The commission pays teachers this allowance depending on their geographical location or working station.
The allowances are paid in terms of clusters. Cluster 1 comprises of schools in Nairobi where teachers teaching in those schools are paid a house allowance of Sh. 16,500.
Cluster 2 comprises of parts of Kisumu city, Mombasa City, Nakuru city, Nyeri town areas, Thika Town parts, Kisii Town Parts, Malindi and Kitale Town parts.
Teachers in this parts receive a house allowance of Sh. 12,800 per month.
Cluster 3 is made of other former Municipalities where teachers in those areas receive a house allowance of Sh. 9,600 per month.
Cluster 4 now comprises of other parts except the ones listed above where it’s teachers are paid a house allowance of Sh. 8,133 per month.
The Teachers Service Commission appreciates the SNE Teachers since they are the ones who guide learners who are enabled different on how can become more productive in the society without having to worry of their physical/mental challenges.
