Teachers Service Commission, or TSC, sets several salary points and grades that define a diploma special needs (SNE) teacher’s monthly basic income and allowances.
The company claims that under salary point 1, Diploma SNE teachers are entitled to a base wage of sh. 36,621, together with an allowance equivalent to that of a teacher in grade C2.

TSC Diploma SNE Teacher Allowances
Diploma teachers Special Needs Education (SNE) get Grade C2 allowances based on TSC scale.
These allowances are ;
- A monthly hardship allowances of sh 10,900
- A monthly commuter allowance of sh 5,00
- An Annual/Yearly leave allowance of Ksh 6,000.
These teachers also are paid house allowance which is also based on the geographical location or working station.

These teachers get house Allowance of sh16,500 monthly
Cluster 2 comprising of parts of Kisumu city ,Mombasa city, Nakuru town, Nyeri town areas Eldoret town areas, Thika town parts , Kisii town parts, Malindi and Kitale town parts)
These teachers get a House Allowance of sh 12,800 monthly.
Cluster 3 comprise of other Former Municipalities.
Teachers House Allowance received here is sh9,600 per month.
Cluster 4. Covers all Other Areas a part from the listed above.
House Allowance payable to teachers under this parts is sh8,133.
