TSC CEO Nancy Macharia is set to retire from office.
It is now planned for the TSC chairman to retire. When Dr. Nancy Njeri Macharia steps down as CEO and secretary of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), a lot of people will be curious to know about her succession plan.
Dr. Macharia will begin a terminal leave of absence in March of the next year, based on the comments. She intends to do this while she waits to officially retire in June 2025. She will now create space for an election to choose the heir.
In response to speculations that appeared last year, TSC clarified whether Dr. Macharia was anticipated to depart her position after her contract expired or when she reached the mandatory retirement age.
Dr. Nancy Macharia is a state officer, as Mr. Cavin Anyuor, Director of Legal, Labor, and Industrial Relations for the TSC commission, clarified.
The Public Commission’s retirement age has been attained by TSC Macharia’s CEO. Sixty is the age at which one can retire.
Now, TSC CEO Will Step Down and Vacate Office
But Anyuor made it clear that Dr. Nancy Macharia would fulfill her 10-year term, which ends in 2025, in accordance with the TSC Act and the Constitution.

Anyuor expressed his opinions on the subject. He cited TSC Act of 2012, Sec. 16(3), which names the commission secretary/CEO as a State officer.
It provides Article 260 of the Constitution as well as comprehensive information on the qualifications for becoming a State officer.
Nancy Macharia Date of Birth
Born in 1963, Dr. Macharia has spent over two decades of her career advocating for Kenya’s educational system.
Macharia was appointed to her current position at TSC in May 2015 following a competitive hiring procedure. She succeeded her former boss, Gabriel Lengoiboni, who retired on June 30, 2015.
Despite criticism from interested parties and educational professionals, she has since taken on the role of top secretary for the commission until June 2020. She then made the decision to keep working until 2025, or five more years.
One of Dr. Nancy Macharia’s well-known traits is her strong leadership. Strict laws aimed at streamlining the teaching profession are proof of this. It has also helped with the provision of services to Kenyan youngsters.
Additionally, Macharia has been advocating for teachers’ progress evidence by regularly submitting funding proposals to the government. She takes use of this to promote the employment and promotion of additional educators.
