TSC Job Groups Locked Out Of July Salary Increment.
List of TSC Job Categories Excluded From July Salary Increase. The TSC compensation increase for teachers went into effect in its first phase. Instructors are already looking forward to their July pay increase. Not all educators, though, stand to gain from this change. A few will return home with nothing.
Numerous educators from diverse professional backgrounds are really happy. Thanks to the most recent collective bargaining agreement, they will benefit financially from the salary increase.
The first CBA was signed by the Teachers Service Commission and the Kenya National Union of Teachers. Since then, it has been fully implemented, and teachers have gotten their wage increases.
On the other hand, a few other unions signed the CBA as well. Among them are
- Kenya union of post primary Education teachers (KUPPET)
- Kenya union of special needs education teachers (KUSNET)
A new salary review was conducted. Thereafter, some job groups were left out of the pay rise and did not receive any increments. Among the job groups that were locked out in the pay rise were C4,C5, D4 and D5.
The salaries of teachers in Grades C4 and C5 stayed the same at SH 52, 308 and SH 62, 272, respectively.
The incomes of those in work grades D4 and D5, which are sh114, 242 and sh131, 380, respectively, remained the same.
Pay increases for each job group at TSC.
Grade D1 became the victors of the phase 1 salary boost, which is still in effect. They were able to receive a Ksh. 785 pay increase in addition to their earnings.
Ksh. 2074 will be added to the pay of Grade B5 employees. They make between Sh 21,756 and Sh 23, 830 a year.
There will be a wage increase of sh 2592 for teachers in job grade C1. Their earnings will so soar from Sh 27,195 to Sh 29,797.
Furthermore, employment group C2 will also see a pay increase. They will also receive a salary increase of sh 3331. They will now pocket ksh 34,995, but this will increase it to ksh 38,286.
However, grade D1 will see an increase of sh 785. Their earnings will increase to sh 78,625 from the current sh 77,840.
Teachers in D2 TSC will earn a wage increase of sh 1455. They will now make ksh 92,496 instead of ksh 91,041 in earnings.
Furthermore, D3 teachers will receive a salary increase of sh 1399, which would bring their pay up from sh 104,644 to sh 106,043.
Lastly, the minimum salary of sh 45,671 will now be earned by C3 teachers, who previously earned sh 43, 154.
