TSC Lists Guidelines For Teacher Deployment To JSS.

Six thousand primary school teachers with a secondary education degree are looking to apply for the 6,000 posts that the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has made available.

Applications from interested parties must be submitted by March 18, 2024.

Beginning with the upcoming academic term, TSC hopes to make it easier for PTE (Primary Teacher Education) instructors to be deployed by placing them in junior secondary school roles.

Before the deadline, qualified educators are urged to submit their applications for deployment.

Primary school teachers who want to be deployed to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) need to meet certain conditions that TSC has established.

TSC Requirements for Deployment to JSS 

1. Active registration as a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
2. Current employment as a primary school teacher under the TSC.
3. Should not be serving interdiction or disciplinary proceedings.
4. Possession of a minimum Diploma in Education with a grade of C+ or its equivalent in KCSE, including a C+ in two teaching subjects aligned with the school curriculum. Besides, applicants may have two principles and one subsidiary pass at “A” Level, with at least 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects.
5. Teachers with a minimum grade of C (plain) in KCSE or its equivalent, coupled with a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, are also eligible.
6. The Bachelor’s degree must be in Education; Bachelor of Education (Primary Option) holders are ineligible.

During the verification process, candidates are required to provide the following documents:

1. Original and photocopy of the degree/diploma certificate.
2. Original and copies of academic transcripts.
3. Original and copy of Special Needs Education (SNE) qualification if applicable.
4. Original and copy of KCSE certificate or its equivalent.
5. Copy of the current payslip.
6. Declaration from the Head of Institution confirming the teacher’s current employment status and absence of interdiction or disciplinary proceedings.
