The State Departments in charge of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVETs), Higher Education, and Basic Education would suffer significant cuts totaling more than Ksh 57 billion in the 2019 fiscal year, with education bearing the brunt of these reductions.
TVETs are expected to lose Ksh 2.94 billion, while Ksh 34.39 billion will be taken out of Higher Education, and Ksh 19.43 billion will be significantly reduced from Basic Education.
