TSC refutes Finance Bill 2024-Related Claims of Non-Payment.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has addressed remarks attributed to CEO Nancy Macharia regarding the Finance Bill 2024 in response to recent false information that has been making the rounds on the internet.
The commission stressed that it is completely untrue to say that 100,000 teachers will not receive their salaries in July as a result of the bill’s failure to pass.
The fake news claims that there will be serious repercussions if the Finance Bill 2024 is not passed. We won’t be able to pay 100,000 instructors in July without this crucial law, which will seriously destabilize the education industry.

The Teachers Service Commission flagged the report as bogus on its social media accounts. To stop false information from spreading, the commission exhorts the general public and media outlets to confirm information with official sources.
Regardless of the outcome of the Finance Bill 2024, TSC reaffirmed its commitment to making sure that all teachers receive their paychecks on schedule.
This clarification is made in light of President William Ruto’s decision to rescind the divisive Finance Bill 2024, which leaves 46,000 intern teachers without a job for the foreseeable future.
President Ruto stated that the measure was expected to bring in more money to make up for the Sh4 trillion budget deficit this year, with some of the money set aside for educational projects including recruiting intern teachers.
Finance Bill 2024’s retraction has sparked worries about how to support a number of industries, including education. Nonetheless, TSC has guaranteed that the current funding and procedures would be adequate to cover teachers’ salary requirements.
Despite the legislative defeat, the committee is still hopeful about finding other ways to support hiring intern teachers and other educational projects.
The rapid action taken by TSC to rectify the misinformation underscores the need of precise communication in upholding public confidence and guaranteeing the seamless functioning of important services like education.
The commission exhorts people to trust only confirmed sources of information and to be wary of misleading stories that could unnecessarily spread fear and confusion.
