TSC Scraps Degree Requirement for Teachers must satisfy in order to apply for jobs.
The Education degree requirement for the advertised representative position at the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) was eliminated, according to a Tuesday announcement from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
TSC added a general degree requirement in a public notice that was released on Tuesday.
Consequently, one can now apply for a position with any university diploma rather than just a bachelor’s degree in education.
The identical advertisement, which excluded thousands of other degree holders by exclusively accepting applications from graduate teachers, was also seen by TSC on 27.
It is evident from the most current amendment, which was released on March 5th, 2024, that representation of TSC at the SRC table does not require one to be a graduate teacher.
Consequently, TSC has decided to re-advertise the position and has extended the application period from March 7 to March 25, 2024.
TSC claims that there is no special degree need and that the qualifications of TSC representatives at the SRC remain the same.
A minimum of ten years of expertise in finance, administration, public management, and economics is required.
The applicant should also have understanding of labor legislation and experience in human resource management.
TSC goes on to say that members of a political party’s governing council, state officers such as MPs and MCAs, and state officers generally should not be eligible.
Candidates must also fulfill the requirements outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution and have a notable professional background.
The chosen candidate could not have been removed from office due to breaking any laws or constitutional restrictions.
Ultimately, the candidates must submit a two-page curriculum vitae, their academic credentials, and a testimonial.
