The TSC Teacher Category Double Promotion Selections are now public. Many teachers will receive double promotions from the instructors Service Commission. The first group of teachers to benefit from this are the P1 instructors.
Information indicates that P1 TSC instructors will continue to gain a great deal if they did well in the December 2023 interviews. This is because TSC’s announcement that they would be receiving 6000 places opened up an additional opportunity for advertising. The intended use of the slots was for junior secondary schools.
Most P1 instructors have progressed to degrees and certificates. A small number of these degree-holding educators were among the more than 36,000 promoted teachers. They will also be considered, sources said, when deploying to junior secondary.

However, it should be noted that before primary school teachers can be sent to junior schools, TSC has very strict standards.
The panel affirmed that primary school teachers would only be considered for deployment to junior schools if they held a secondary option degree. The cutoff date for applications was March 18, 2024.
TSC gave PTE teachers an extra chance to work in junior schools during the third round of teacher promotions.

Selections for TSC Teacher Category Double Promotions Declared
Additionally, there are requirements set by TSC that must be fulfilled before P1 teachers can be allocated to junior schools. One of the prerequisites is having a valid registration certificate from the Teachers Service Commission. In addition, the teachers must hold a permanent position as primary school teachers with pension benefits.
TSC also mandates that each applicant possess an education diploma. A minimum KCSE grade of C+ is also required. Additionally, the previously mentioned candidate must have earned at least a C+ on the two teaching areas.
However, under the former system, teachers had to possess one A-level subsidiary pass and two principles.
However, in order to teach in either of the two specialized areas, a teacher must have completed a minimum of 8 units in each. They also shouldn’t be fulfilling an interdiction or handling a disciplinary matter.
Teachers who hold a bachelor’s degree in education from the primary option are not qualified.
