TSC Teacher Category Selections For Double Promotions Announced. The instructors Service Commission is planning to give double promotions to a sizable number of instructors. The P1 instructors are the first group of teachers to gain from this.
Information suggests that P1 TSC instructors who performed well in the December 2023 interviews will continue to benefit greatly. This is due to the fact that TSC’s announcement of 6000 spots for them created another possibility for promotion. The junior secondary schools were the intended recipients of the slots.
A sizable portion of P1 teachers have advanced to degrees and diplomas. Among the more than 36,000 teachers promoted were a few of these degree-holding educators. According to sources, they would also be taken into account when deploying to junior secondary.

It should be mentioned, though, that TSC has very stringent requirements before primary school instructors can be sent to junior schools.
Only primary school instructors with a secondary option degree would be given consideration for deployment to junior schools, the commission confirmed. The application deadline was March 18, 2024.
During the third phase of teacher promotions, TSC provided PTE teachers with an additional opportunity to be assigned to junior schools.

Furthermore, TSC has certain qualifications that must be met in order for P1 instructors to be assigned to junior schools. Possessing a current Teachers Service Commission registration certificate is one of the requirements. The teachers must also be employed permanently with pension benefits as primary school teachers.
TSC further stipulates that a diploma in education must be held by every applicant. Additionally necessary is a KCSE grade of at least C+. Furthermore, the aforementioned candidate needs to have completed the two teaching topics with at least a C+.
Teachers who taught under the previous system, however, were required to hold two principles and one A-level subsidiary pass.
Nevertheless, each instructor HAS to have completed a minimum of 8 units in each of the two specialist teaching areas. Additionally, they shouldn’t be dealing with a disciplinary case or serving an interdiction.
Teachers with a primary option bachelor’s degree in education are not qualified.
