TSC to Release 6000 P1 Teacher Deployment Letters to JSS.
The third batch of qualified PTE (P1 instructors) will begin receiving deployment letters to junior school JSS in May 2024, according to plans disclosed by the instructors Service Commission (TSC).
Following a thorough review of all the documentation by the Sub-County Directors, TSC reports that 6000 instructors will get posting letters to their schools.
Additionally, TSC headquarters will have enough time to review the documentation to make sure that only certified teachers with legitimate certificates are submitted.
The TSC voiced grave concerns in January of this year regarding junior secondary schools, which have been facing a significant teacher shortage.
According to Dr. Nancy Macharia, Chief Executive Officer of TSC, schools need nearly 99,045 teachers, not the 56,928 that are now employed.
The business offered 6,000 deployment spots intended for degree-holding primary school teachers to transition to secondary option as part of the solution to solve the shortfall.
In accordance with the call for submissions, eligible candidates had until March 18, 2024, to submit their applications.
In early term two of 2024, all of the commission’s selected teachers will start receiving posting letters so they can start working in the junior secondary school sector.
Teachers who are competent to teach in secondary schools are the ones who applied to be assigned to JSS from elementary schools.
When the new term starts, these instructors will receive their deployment letters ahead of schedule.
The commission stated that all Sub County Directors, working with Primary Headteachers, must release and receive the teachers right away in order for their payments to be expedited for all those who would be deployed.
TSC also requested that all County Directors start posting letters.
Additionally, the Sub-County’s Entry or Exit Reports Module needs to be enabled right away.
The TSC Sub-County Director will then handle letter posting or assigning P1 teachers to junior secondary JSS.
According to the commission, the teacher admission and exit process for deployed teachers must be completed online.
This is because hard copy casualties are no longer recognized by TSC.
