Furthermore, in his function as the head of the powerful committee, Nyoro instructed TSC to hire each and every one of the 46,000 interns who had been employed by the program.
The member added that the hiring of interns would be subject to the approval of the budget, unlike the prior proposal, which called for the TSC to hire the interns in January 2025.
The TSC should verify the interns as soon as the budget is approved, I would like to ask.
Ndindi Nyoro urged, “Please do not wait until January 2025 to confirm the interns from this floor of this house.”
He continued by saying that despite their little remuneration, the instructors have given their all for the nation.

After signing a return-to-work formula on Saturday, June 1, the Junior Secondary School intern teachers decided to end their three-week strike, which sparked the legislative orders.
As per the agreement reached on Madaraka Day, the instructors would resume their duties on Monday, June 3.
The elimination of all show-cause letters that had been delivered to teachers for participating in the strike was one of TSC’s biggest concessions.
TSC has pledged to reinstate educators whose registrations were cancelled and pay withheld due to their involvement in the strikes.
An interesting occurrence was when a number of JSS instructors declined to retool after receiving permanent positions with pensions, as per the agreed-upon return to work formula.
