TSC will carry on retraining teachers on CBC.
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is dedicated to offering educators ongoing professional development and retraining in order to guarantee compliance with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
The TSC Rift Valley Regional Coordinator, Alex Cheruiyot, stressed how crucial it is that educators be prepared to deal with shifting trends and run their classrooms skillfully when the educational system completely switches to a competency-based approach.
Cheruiyot emphasized that innovative teaching skills are required to implement the new curriculum, and that reviving the teaching profession will sustain norms of relevance, equity, and excellence at all educational levels.
A key component of this effort is retooling, a procedure designed to improve student learning by increasing instructors’ professional knowledge and abilities.
During a pre-session in Nakuru for junior secondary school (JSS) teachers, Cheruiyot emphasized TSC’s and its partners’ dedication to helping educators incorporate ICT into their lesson plans.
As part of this support, teachers can find and create instructional resources and teaching aids that are specifically suited to the CBC curriculum thanks to ongoing training programs.
9,595 teachers are enrolled in a training program by the Centre for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), which is making a major contribution. The course focuses on the requirements of continuing curricular revisions. The focus of this training is on getting students ready for the demands of the workforce of the twenty-first century.
In view of the trend toward remote learning via digital apps, Cheruiyot underlined that the training will improve human capital. The goal of this technology integration is to increase student and teacher involvement while enhancing the quality of teaching and learning experiences.
TSC Will Keep Upgrading Teachers on CBC
Kenya is reforming its educational system in addition to these other initiatives in order to improve human capital and quality of life. Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG) calls for inclusive and equitable educational opportunities, which is in line with this.
Cheruiyot emphasized the need of addressing how students’ educational demands are changing along with the needs of the modern world, and that teachers must adjust their teaching methods accordingly. Follow Teachers Updates on Facebook to gain additional insights on these changes in education.
