July Mass Recruitment for TSC 2024 The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) plans to stop offering spots for the Primary Teachers Certificate Training (PTE) starting in 2024.
This is also known as the Employment P1 certificate. This is part of its analysis of the legislation governing the teaching profession.
The aforementioned concept has elicited a range of reactions from players in the education industry.
According to the TSC, the minimum requirement for enrollment in teacher training programs will now be a diploma.
Moreover, TSC states that applicants for teaching posts must to have received at least a C- in English. A D+ in math is also required, for a minimum overall grade of C.
TSC now intends to consult with the Ministry of Education prior to presenting these recommended changes to the legislature.
Teachers Not able to attend TSC Recruitment in July
The presidential working party’s recommendations for improvements to education are cited by the commission that hires teachers.
In addition, there are constitutional provisions that support these reforms.
As of right now, the commission has said that it will hire instructors with degrees before those with certificates in elementary education.
In order to adhere to the Competency-Based Curriculum requirements (CBC), it is advised that educators who now possess PTE certificates complete their education to the diploma level.
The commission states that in order for someone to pursue a career in teaching, they must possess an education diploma.
Additionally, for individuals who have completed the ECDE, PTE, DTE, BED, DIP ED, and SNE programs, TSC allows post-training certification upgrades.
Teachers who fulfill the prerequisites specified in TSC’s new proposal will all be eligible to teach first through third and fourth through sixth grade children.
